About

I started coding during the Covid lockdown with Minecraft modding in Java. Two years of that, then JavaScript, then TypeScript and Nuxt, and now most of the interesting work happens in Rust and Go.

The pattern I keep noticing: I like the projects where the system was not built for me to use. An undocumented transit API, six job boards that would rather not be scraped, three exchanges that disagree about a price. The code is rarely the hard part.

Linux is my primary OS and Neovim is where I work. I maintain my own servers. I build my own tools when the tool I want does not exist, which is how a CV compiler and a general purpose hub both happened.

Daily

  • TypeScript and JavaScript, in the majority of projects since 2020
  • Vue, Nuxt, Svelte, Tailwind
  • Linux as primary OS, and maintaining Linux servers
  • Neovim as the main environment, Git, Docker, Docker Compose, Podman

Comfortable

  • Rust: Bevy for games, axum and egui in guppi, two Tauri backends
  • Go: the migration tool, the CV server
  • Tauri 2 for desktop and Android from one codebase
  • PostgreSQL, SQLite, TimescaleDB, InfluxDB
  • Java, which is where the whole thing started

Used when needed

  • Python, Lua, C
  • Puppeteer and scraping that has to survive rate limits
  • Reading undocumented APIs until they make sense
  • Raspberry Pi and GPIO

AI policy

  • All final software I ship is mine to answer for.
  • AI is only a tool, never the author.
  • All thoughts and opinions here are my own.
  • I am against AI slop and generative AI art.
